QR Codes

QR Codes- A new (rather old now) method for marketing!

Originally intended for the automobile industry, these codes abbreviated as Quick Response codes, were developed by Denso Wave, a subsidiary of the famous Toyota Automobiles in 1994.
And these are a kind of two dimensional bar codes and contain virtually any kind of data.

QR Codes vs. Bar Codes

The conventional Bar Codes, which are in use, are of one dimensional can contain literally small amount of data as when compared to QR codes. And unlike bar codes, QR codes don't need special readers/scanners to obtain the data in them.
QR codes require the ordinary Smart phones with some applications to read a QR code. These apps include
NeoReader, QR Droid (where you can create and scan QRs) and so on. These are available at free of cost.
